82 FI GT fox coming to UK
So OK..... lm feeling like a dog with two dicks and looking forward to getting this lil monster from Ohio to UK streets and scare the motorized shopping cart drivers with stretch tyres and fart cannons.....spec is pretty good and wish l could claim to have built it myself but if it comes pre-packed then who am l to complain
1982 FORD MUSTANG GT, 302 ENGINE, 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION, 3.73 POSI 8.8 REAREND WITH STUD GIRDLE SUPPORT ALUMINUM 3 CORE RADIATOR, ELECTRIC COOLING FAN, BUILT 302 ROLLER CAM BLOCK, EDELBROCK RPM ALUMINUM HEADS, MSD DISTRIBUTOR, MSD 6A BOX ROLLER ROCKERS BBK EQUAL LENGTH HEADERS FORD RACING VALVE COVERS B&M 174 CI ROOTS BLOWER MAKING 6 PSI BOOST DEMON CARBURATOR 3/8 FUEL LINE, ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP, FUEL PRESSURE GAGE MOUNTED ON COWL MSD ROTARY RPM LIMITER CONTROL FORGED PISTONS FORGED CRANK FORGED RODS ENGINE TORQUE STRAP HEAVY DUTY 5 SPEED TRANS HURST SHIFTER X PIPE EXHAUST WITH NO CATS DYNOMAX WELDED MUFFLERS WITH 2.5 INCH TAIL PIPES FRAME CONNECTORS BBK SHOCK TOWER BRACE K&N 5 INCH AIR FILTER LAKEWOOD REAR CONTROL ARMS BATTERY BOX IN HATCH JAZ RACING SEATS ALUMINUM DRIVESHAFT 160MPH SPEEDOMETER, HAYS CLUTCH AND THROW OUT BEARING WELD RACING RIMS 15X3.5 FRONT AND 15X8 REAR WITH NEW M/T ET STREET SLICKS REAR AND NEW 165 15 RADIALS IN FRONT 4WHEEL DISC BRAKES. (Ford motorsport m2300 kit) The engine was built by boothe- arrons racing in Michigan from a ford racing m302 block arp bolts and studs throughout, steel crank, plasma rings, diamond forged pistons, crank scraper, edelbrock roller timing chain, x303 cam, crank was micro polished, engine was blueprinted and balanced. The edelbrock rpm heads were modified to accept a complete roller valve train. The trans has a steel input hub, hardened gates, steel shift pivot,block, and close ratio gear set. Runs Mobil5w30 synthetic in it. It has 80psi on start up 40 psi warm. Fuel pressure is set at 6.5 psi Apparently runs ok on good pump gas on 6lbs boost without charge cooloing but as l will try a 12lb pulley Im going to throw in a devilsown meth/water kit and upgrade the ignition to MSD 6AL2 with launch control options and later a tube K member (shipping costs for heavy items is horrendous for from US to UK for stuff like K mebers so its low on list) ''Apparently ran mid 11s and dynoed at 467 bhp.....which are figures l wont confirm ....and seems high for 6lbs but car was often run with race fuel and may have had 12lbs for a dyno run....even so seems like a 450 may be closer to maximum practical reality its not going to be a daily driver ...it will be lucky if it gets road driven more than 500 a year with me working oveseas.....but all the more special for being my occasional drug thought l would add this note.....X303 cam.....whats the consensus of opinion on a replacement for this......ive read and read and read and it seems that the alphabet cams are a bad choice from at least the point that they are mass produced by ford and not neccesarily going to be as accurately ground as an aftermarket cam shop trying to make a name for good quality.....so given my set up above what would be a good swap....sound irrelevant...performance everything!
