Clutch pedal??????

Ok so I'm really confused right now, how does a clutch pedal return to its position after its pressed in?

Is there a spring on the clutch pedal assembly itself or on the clutch fork to the transmission?

Please respond ASAP

Thanks in advance.

Alright so the cables attached to the fork then to the quadrant, and the pedal will go back to the original position?

I'm just a little confused on how the clutch pedal and it engaging and disengaging works.

The pedal just hangs there. The springs that apply pressure to the clutch disc require pressure to compress when you push the pedal in. When you release the pedal, the pressure plate releases the springs and they push against the disc to the flywheel. It will only return as far as the cable and adjuster will allow.
