Interior handle failure
Driver side interior door handle finally pooped. The handle came out one tooth too many. When playing around with the panel off, the assembly still functions, but it doesn't extend far enough to pop the latch.
The handle is held in by a pressed-fit(??) pin. Assuming I bang that out, remove spring and set the teeth back in place....or would I be better of swapping the handle for a new one? |

Man i had the same problem wiff my 87 gt.I put handles from a 82 futura i had in the yard in(perfect fit) there and bent the rod that goes from the handle to the popping mechanism back straight and now the inside handles work gr8,now all i got to do is put on new outside handles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh drill out the rivit holding the handle in and put a self tapping screw (next size bigger than rivit) back in to secure it.
