If you don't do some tuning, you're playing with fire on a stock block. IMO.. at the very least, do some proper plug reading and adjust accordingly with fuel pressure and timing.

No tuning and running close to 'known' block limits isn't the greatest idea in the world. But, an air/fuel ratio gauge could be your friend. I initially planned on using my MSD Digital 6 box to retard timing when spraying, but the tuner said he would just burn me a second tune on the chip. If you plan on only running this combo for a short time, I understand why you wouldn't wanna drop 500 on a tune, but remember, at most places around here they say 300 of the tune is the chip. Once you've bought it, you own it. Retunes run around 80 to 150 here depending on the amount of time it takes. You could/should talk with a local tuner in your area to see what your options are.

If you do the kit right and you read your plugs, you can do a shot of nitrous. But you have to make sure you read the plugs right. Get the set-up running and take it somewhere where you can do a good nitrous run and immediately after you let off the throttle, shut it down, pull over, and pull a few plugs and take a look. Better to do this at the track so you don't have to worry about coasting with no power steering. Also make sure to only push the brake pedal one time after you're coasting. After once or twice, the pedal will be hard as a rock and tough to slow down. The reason you do this is because any idle time after the run will skew the results of reading the plug. You want it fresh from the run to know what's going on.

Those wings are usually for cars that trap over 150 mph. Granted a stock car can backfire, but not as often. Dont worry dude.

Haha jokes jokes, I know my range of error isn't near as narrow as theirs. Just a mild setup shouldn't be too too hard on it hopefully haha. I'll keep ya'll posted, bout to do a tear down and see where she sits.

Well finally got around to getting the engine out and down to the bare block. Everything seems to be okay from first glance. Didn't see any problem spots, just a ring and bearing job hopefully. I'm going to clean it all up tomorrow and check it out real good and get my dad to overlook it as well as lathe the crank and see if its well balanced.
