New 5.0 owner!

So next Tuesday, I will be the proud owner of a 1991 Mustang LX 5.0. For $1000, it's an auto rebuilt with a Transgo shift kit, new wheels and tires (Don't know the specs, but they're pretty big), CAI and flowmasters. I'm pretty excited.

I don't know much about American Muscle or cars in general for that matter, so I'm sure I'll be on here quite a bit.

Are there any quirks, things to know, or quick and easy modifications I should be aware of?

H/C/I, headers, bypass the smog pump, ditch the cats or gut them, and gears. If you don't want/need a/c, ditch the compressor and get a delete kit for it or a kit to move your p/s pump up. Less work for your end and less weight=more speed theoretically!

Just take the smog crap off, and run a shorter belt. Also get an off road midpipe that doesnt have cats on it.

Yeah cats seem to go bad without a smog pump. There is a diagram in a couple other recent threads that has belt routing and length of belt needed to bypass the smog pump. I think one says something like Belt routing, and the other actually says smog pump on it. The threads that is.
