Car won't start after T-5 swap
So got done with the t5 swap and the car won't start afterwards. i think it has something to do with the harness that plugs into the trans. it will turn over but wont fire and it sounds like the starters not getting enough power to it and my batterys charged so i dont know what else it could be
any advice would help |

Well start with the basics and see if you are getting power to the solenoid when trying to crank the motor over.

I dunno what the hell is goin on... I just started it by jumping it and then it wouldn't start after I took the cables off... it still sounds like thrers barely any power to the starter

you using a t5 harness or you just bypass the neutral safety switch from the auto one?

Sounds like power and ground issues.... make sure your battery terminals are CLEAN and tight. then start poking around your grounds. A good way to find out if you have a ground issue is to take your jumper cables and attach a lead to your block and the other end to the negative battery terminal. If it fires off then you know it isn't getting a good ground.

get a meter and test your battery, and check the voltage while cranking

Alright hooked up a volt meter to the solenoid and nothing when I try to start it. And that batterys fine I just checked that

did you check on the battery post, and then the battery terminal to see if you get 12v. make sure you have a good ground on the meter also if not it doesnt work

checked the battery post when trying to crank and it dropped a little and then checked the solenoid when cranking and it went to zero
and yes i got it to start by jumping it |

Then its either the wire from battery to solenoid or the terminal on that wire

That would make since of it was the terminal and explain why I could start it when I jumped it

there was a short in a wire running to the coil |
