MOTOR BUILD IN PROGRESS

this is what i have. i got a stock short block, victor jr heads with 1.7 rockers, a ford A312 camshaft, victor jr intake, 200 shot nitrous plate, 750 4bbl edelbrock carb, full MSD ignition, timing advanced until right before ping on premium gas, and long tubes. everything behind it is as follows: C-4 with 3000 stall, 8.8 rear with 4.56 gears and mini spool. moroso trick springs and 10 inch drag radials. you guys think its good for low 12's??? my interior is gutted and i will be putting in a cage and subframe connectors also.

WELL THATS WHAT IVE GOT SO FAR. I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GET IT DONE BEFORE THE TRACK CLOSES THIS SEASON BUT OH WELL. THATS WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR AND I BLEW IT UP STREET RACING...........ONCE I GET DONE WITH THIS AND GET THE 350 INTO MY BLAZER IM BUILDING A 331 STROKER WITH THE SAME TOP END BUT WITH A BLOWER INSTEAD OF THE NITROUS. ITS GONNA GO INTO A MAZDA B2000 PICKUP TRUCK OR A PINTO WHICHEVER I DECIDE ON AT THE TIME I MIGHT PUT IT INTO A RANGER OR SOMETHIN

That's funny every time my wifes cap lock is on she says she's at work. Hum, you seeing my wife???? Well BUDDY!! SPIT IT OUT!! If you want to put it in a Pinto, put it in that Pinto wanna be a Mustang, Mustang II. I've seen some bad butt ones and they are rare cuz they aren't so popular. WHAT ABOUT THE WIFE THING THOUGH, LETS CLEAR THAT CRAP UP!

I'd use a powerglide before I'd use a boat anchor C6.

a C-6 is unecessary when a C-4 or AOD will hold way more power than what i will have. plus i wanna see somebody find a C-6 with a small block bellhousing on it.......good luck.

351 Cleveland C-6 = small block bellhousing. But you are right, a C4 or AOD is a much better choice. Nobody runs C6s anymore. All the fast BBF guys run TH400s and Powerglides.

exactly.....the C-6 is just unecessary.....and it is harder to find a C-6 with a small block bell than a C-4.....plus i will be driving it on the street so im thinkin about going with an AOD just for the overdrive with my 4.56 rear ratio

yeah pintos are pretty gay tho until you put a V8 in one then the story changes. i always wanted to find a station wagon pinto and chop the back half of the top off with a 351 under the hood. im goin out to the pump gas drags tommorow. theres suppose to be a swap meet out there maybe ill find somethin i like........

If you get a good built AOD, it will be a good trans for a street/strip car. There are guys running fast with them but you have to find the right guy that knows how to build them or buy one from a good aftermarket company.
