Clutch Problems??

Ok well im on my way to an appointment yesterday morning car is driving fine. On my way back i was geting on the on ramp on the interstate and my car wouldnt pull off in 1st gear so i pulled over to the shoulder and tried to pull off in second or third gear just to make sure it wasnt my tranny but it wouldnt budge then the car completely cut off on its own while i was in neutral. i let the car sit for a good 30 mins and called one of my mustang buddies to help me out he got in the car and pulled it off but even then he had to ribb the rpms up higher than usual to pull this off. today i started the car and pulled in the drive way in first gear regularly. this has never happened to me before. does anyone know where i should start or if this has happend toi them too??? get back at me asap!!
