charging help!

I upgraded to a 3g alt. because of the horrible charging problem with the foxes. my alt gauge still bounces and lights dim when at idle. is this just as easy as upgrading to a heavier power wire or maybe something else? Any ideas would be great! Thanks.

How many amps it the alt. rated at idle? Is it an internal or externally regulated alt? Some high amp alternators actually produce less amperage at idle than the stock ones. Only at higher RPM's do they produce more than stock. Note: SOME aftermarket alternators are like that, not all.

You could also try upgrading the wires to 4ga or better. Especially the ground from the block to the chassis and the ground for the battery. It never hurts to have good wire and good connections.

yeah, I do have pulleys, supposed to be 75 amps at idle. 130 at 2500 rpm. the article I read about the upgrade said that even with the pulleys it should have awesome charging. I guess ill try the wire upgrade and go from there. thanks
