I called edelbrock and summit - they are saying that if you 'stay' with in the guidlines - you will be ok - w/either a 268 or 274 XE - I'm ok for a mild street motor - Ron from edelbrock tech said that some guys think they are getting a cheap 'high end' head for major power and going past the 5500 rpm limit and 'boom'
- that and the roller cam thing.....I mean it will suck - b/c if I have to go to the machine shop the cost will be the same (new springs/retainers) plus them to do it ...I could of just bought performers or twisted wedges out of the box - ...although I got the E streets for free - so really the heads will only cost me $300 out of pocket - so maybe I shouldn't complain -

Send them back to summit for store credit and save the other couple hundred for better heads.

...I wish now... I could.... but - like I posted - they were given to me for free - too much CC info through the company to get it back through Summit - either I have to sell them out-right or get the springs replaced....which I may do - betwen shipping costs and the hassle - I can for around $300 get them done right from my machine shop ...........$300 bucks for new heads ....not too bad of a deal -
