New Skin!

Well, it's no sexy red with sweet stripes (jealous) but this is some pics of the new paint, we are spraying the car Friday night and assembling over the weekend...

Before:

This was the shape when I brought her home, damage to the rear DS quarter, front and rear bumper covers toasted, peeling where the trim was (trim not removed for the last paint job)

Here are some progress pics:

By no means taking it to the metal, but I am doing it on the cheap with a painter friend with some horse-trading involved...this will likely be a donor car for a Factory Five car...so I really only need it to be pretty for a couple years.

More pics to come!!

Will be too pretty to steal the drivetrain out of. At least the shell should bring decent money when looking good.

I definatly won't let the shell get crushed, and won't mind making a few bucks on it either!

On a side note, the fender flares are for sale!

I agree, that color is solid. After I watched that american chopper with the crazy ape bike, that color with flat black looks like sex. You should break off some wide flat black stripes in the center.

I was a little high, but I traded the car straight across for a Honda Shadow and knew I had plans for it, also nothing that wasn't repairable!!

Engine before:

And now:

I know I couldn't get $3000 for the bike, hell they are just under $6000 new and it was 4 years old...so not a bad deal, we both got what we wanted so win-win!! If you have some time, here is the whole build thread:

Mine cleared the stock hood just fine, no issues at all, but have since picked up a nice cowl:
