are you looking off of the voltage gauge or are you using like a multimeter on the battery. i thought i was having a charging problem and it turned out that the gauge is reading wrong.

1 Did you get the regulator from Advanced auto or Autozone? If yes its possible it is defective since they sell very cheap parts.

2 When did the problem start? Did you replace anything or add anything before this started to happen?

Are you saying you retuned it twice? or bought 2 warranties on it? Theres really nothing else it can be. The external regulated charging system is very straight forward. I do believe you need to start following the wires from the alt, to the regulator, and thru the harness. A short may somehow be causing a bypass on the regulator. Check the plug that goes into the regulator as well.

Hey, Just my .02 I had a bad battery (cell was shorting out ) and it caused an over charge. I found it when I unhooked the battery while the car was running and the volts jumped down where they should be.

but I don't think unhooking the battery while the car is running is a good idea.
But that's how I found it. Lee

Unhookin the battery while running is ok, i have done it tons of times. A bad cell could cause a short.
