definately go last on the cam, and don't go with a letter cam, much better stuff since they came out. It seems to be a fairly clean car, and don't know what they go for in your area but it does sound steep. I don't think anyone here was saying you were BSing us, I think they were saying the guy who sold it was. Does seem to be a lot of stuff that doesn't match up to having 3x,xxx miles. Sorry but its the truth. If you have 2 grand to play with I would totally go with a supercharger without looking back. What is your resoning for not wanting to go that route? 2 grand in the NA world is not going to get you far at all, definatley put some sf connectors on her, but for 2 grand you would not even be able to get a decent top end on her with labor, then you still need connectors, gears, going to probably need some tranny work at least a built vb I am not a shit kit fan, maybe a stall, If its been sitting that long I would definately change all the fluids before I even drove it. Would love to see some under hood shots of it... was this barn a concrete floor or dirt floor? how does under the hood and suspension and chassis look?

hey man first of all thats a great looking car! i bought an 89GT march 2010 thing sounds loud and mean and i get complements all the time but the engine is completely stock the car has bbk shorty headers, mac industries dual exhaust w/off-road h-pipe(lx style so the bumper is drilled to fit the pipes), and mac industries cold air intake. People wanna race me all the time but i tell them its slow(2.73 rear) just loud and they dont believe me. So basically im saying you can get it to roar easily with a stock motor. Good Luck Man!

Honestly I am not anywhere near as knowledgable as most of these guys, but I believe that when you start building a car that you start from the ground up. As chassis, suspension, brake, tires and wheels first. Before that make the car more enjoyable to drive. Get that exhaust that you want, and do a gear. That right there is going to make the car so much more fun to drive.

It's your car, so do what makes you happy. If you want it to sound good then get an exhaust. I suggest you go on youtube and listen to your options before settling on one. Good luck with whatever you do...

Out of curiousity, besides nitrous, the vortech is the best bang for the buck. You have the money and it's reliable... why not?

How did the previous owner care for the car mechanically while it sat for the last 15 years? My point being 34K or not shit gets old and regular maintenance needs to be performed whether its driven every day or just weekends.

Start with suspension...I have seen stock engined foxes surprise people with a good gear setup and suspension setup...

That can all be done for under $2K I would think...

Thanks guys, going exhaust and suspendions for starters. With the vortech I just never thought bout it. The man told me that he drove it few times a year. Did routine oil changes for the time period it sat

I know how to do alot on cars, I'm asking opptions from those who have already done them on this particular car. I'm looking for quality to fit my personal preference. My fathers old school. Does not deal with things stepping outside the lines from smallbig blocks to putting turbos,sc, nos... I was brought up round true American muscle engines

our freinds in smithton ill have a two story barn just lke you described. actually three if you count the basment part.the floor is made of 3-4 inch thick mill sawn planks. they have put trucks boats whatever in their. its pretty wild.
i think a sc would be perfect for a clean car like that. would hit right on your 2g budjet, clean, reliable, win win i think.

Congrats on the car and low mileage. As far as modding, go with a set of 4.10's, converter, and some exhaust work to start.

I have to say it though, another example of why I hate the word "MINT". The paint is checking on the hood, headlights are yellowed, the lower portion of the car is painted what appears to be a gloss and darker grey (possibly a previous full repaint), car appears to have had a frontal impact, front fenders do not align well with door seams, moldings are peeling, and the interior looks like it needs some TLC as well.

if you had a $10,000 budget, you should have done things the other way around.. bought a $2,000 fox and spent $8,000 on mods lol
