Need advise on what to do next

Here is what is currently in the works. The keep it simple I'm getting an engine installed into my 87 GT conv which should make around 400-450 N/A to the wheels. I plan to put a supercharger on it next spring. This fall I know I need to do the chassis stuff to support the supercharger but I don't know about brakes, axles, suspension etc. I think I need these things so please let me know what you would do:

Aluminum driveshaft
9 inch rear
31 spline rear axle
5 lug conversion with disk brakes all around

I don't know anything else about the "under the car" stuff.

The application is street only. It is a convertible and I think there are rules at the track that I don't want to comply with because it will make my car into something I don't want it to be. I am looking for what I need to do to make the car solid for 600-700rwhp with drag radials on the street.

I don't really have a budget to work with at this point I am just trying to figure out what I need.

The car is currently all stock underneath except Ford Racing 3:55 gears. I am having this kit installed with the engine:

1983-85 Mustang Chassis Brace Package Fits Convertible, Black Powdercoat, Carbureted at LRS - Same Day Shipping!

Why on God's green earth would you put a 9 inch in a car thats going to make 450rwhp. That thing is going to eat up hp and is heavier than an 8.8 and cost more too. Even if you make 900rwhp I do not see the purpose...

9 inch is completely uneccessary as an 8.8 will undoubtedly handle good power. Now if you were talking about 1000 plus, than that's a different story. 31 spline axle's is a great investment at that power level, and 5 lug is a matter of preference, but upgraded disc all around is a good idea. Gotta stop when you need to.

OK...I said I don't know. What do I need? Plus 450 is now. 600-700 is what I'm prepping for.

You should at least put it in a capsule with other cultural treasures so someday the future generations can dig it up and know what it was like to live in the 90's.

Get an explorer rear, rebuild the center section, and 31 splines and call it a day.

Any of the 5.0 gt40 years. Bigger axle tubes and 31 spline axles were factory.

If you have money to spend I work at trz motorsports. We get blank mosiers and build em up, I could prob get you a good deal on a built 8.8. You couldn't ever break it if you wanted to. Normally just a housing though.

Thanks. Yeah I doing the engine and transmission now and will do this in the September/October timeframe. Would like the info about the built rear end but I'll also look into the Explorer ones as well. I am the kind of person that will wait until I have the money to do it right or not do it at all but I don't really know what kind of budget I need to do this right at this point. I was going to try to keep the turbines on it because I like them but I saw some weld wheels that I really like so may go 5 lug so I can put bigger brakes on it.

5 lug brings way better wheel choices. And who likes cleaning turbines, lol.

I always liked the look of the stock car...hell in 3 years I have had it I have put about 1500 miles on it so its not like they get much brake dust on them anyway.
