Exhaust, 255 walbro, 42lbers, maf, vortech on 10psi and tune on stock motor is plenty of fun for a 16 year old.

Heads, cam, intake on a good amount of boost will crack the stock block due to their inadequate horsepower rating. For the most amount of power for cheap, it'd be used blower or used TF top end kit. Will need to buy the supporting mods either way.

If only this was like 9 months ago.... lololol. I had a full street top end kit minus the pushrods and rockers and ALL the supporting mods. Been selling things off left and right. Only have a couple things worth anything left, and that's a tf stage 1 cam, offroad x for shorties, and some cheap ass headman longtubes. I'm a little northwest of mankato. I'm putting together a stock block 351 really slowly right now, but the plan is to drop it in over winter. I'll have more shit to sell when that time comes, but am going to retain my heads as is for that build or possibly send them out for porting. Depends what the budget looks like at the time since it's not a permanent motor either.

Have you ever drove a stock fox? They're fun to drive as is. Ive been driving mine stock for four years and its still fun for me and I'm a young'n myself at 23. Listen to your dad, he knows best. If you really don't want his car then bring someone who knows their shit with you to check out the cars you're looking to buy. I agree with the rest of the guys but get used to it first. These cars are torque-y as hell, stock.

That will turn the car into a whole new beast with those gears. That'll impress you for quite a while.

Show me pics of your dads car. I have enough money to buy it twice.

Your dad's car is a good start & foundation for you.
Like others have already said , buying a fully modded car sounds good ,but most of the time , there are problems. If it is your first car , you will enjoy your dad's car more because you will actually be driving it instead of it being in the garage or constantly trouble shooting issues.

Don't forget to try and 'low-ball' your dad .....research it and throw some numbers at him...remember if he was to trade it in ..or try and sell it on the street - I don't think he would get the $5k for it ....not in these times ....offer $3,500.00 and see if you can get it for $3,900.00 - he can take that ...it would be a decent amount for a 'down' on a new car .....
