interior fresh up.

so you may have seen my door panel tread. if not i'll catch ya up and say i purchased some used door panels. re-did the map pockets, dyed sections black, and added speaker enclosures and home built speaker grills.
you also may have seen the cup holder thread awile back. i fiberglassed cupholders from a jeep into the spot the ashtray was. i finally got some dry outside weekend time to start getting this stuff in the car. i have had new carpet, floor mats, and shift and e-brake boots sitting around for a month now.
OLD BUSTED:

NEW HOTNESS:

what ya think? i'm pretty happy so far. the front is together and the next good weekend i'll be fixing my rear quater windows.

Looking good. Only thing I would have done different is bought the correct interior dye from Latemodel or wherever else for the cupholder piece. Now, that being said, I've redone 2 complete interiors and you prolly wouldn't have had a perfect color match either with that but it would have been closer. If you ever do decide to go that route, the vinyl dye and the hard plastic dye aren't exactly the same color, so I learned to just use the vinyl one on the hard plastics with the adhesion promotor and it works good.

thanks, and i hear ya on the dye , but it's not as bad in person. it actually matches the kick panels and armrest perfect. with all the sun fade on the car, it really is a three tone interior (black, and two grays). i'm not done dying parts yet. i have aq couple more pieces left to do in black and a few in gre

It looks really good, then only thing I'm not a fan of is the speaker grills, i would have left the factory ones in or unmodified. but other then that, its great. Hey you cant please every one, just like i do things to my car that others hate. Opinions are like ass holes, every one has one...........lol

If I didn't already buy a nitrous switch plate to go where my ashtray was, I'd be all over you for building me a cupholder console, lol.

the speakers are about 3.5'' deep. they would not fit in the door behind the stock grills. they are some pretty bad ass 5 1/4 mid drivers. when i put in my new sub i'll build a matching grill for it to tie it all in

i'm kinda surprised nobody has asked about the shift boot and e-brake.

weather was to stormy to tear of anybody's roof yesterday. so i made a trip to the j/y and picked up the back seats from the same 05 i got my frount seats out of. im not sure i'll be able to do anything with them, but i'd like to see if i can have part of the material stitched into my back seats to better match them to the front. if not then oh well only cost me $26 bucks
