Newer longer t5 into a 89?

I have a t5 out of a newer mustang like 96 or so. I believe it's out of a v6 and I plan on bolting it up to my 351w. The guy I bought it from
said it was about 5/8" longer than a standard t5 so I'd have to use the bell housing he gave me. How do I know the bell I got is right? It looks right but it said 3.8 on it. Just need a little insight into what I'm getting into here. It's going into a 89 coupe with a 351w. Thanks

edit: I haven't had time to look, but what about speedo gears? Will I have to swap tailhousings to use a mechanical speedo cable/gear?

if im not mistaken, the 3.8 tranny is ab a 1/4 inch off from lining up once u get it all in there. You might do a little more research but i swear i tried to do a swap and it didnt work out...
