I saw on another thread that crossed plug wires could have somewhat of that effect is that true? I don't see how it could, but I don't know.

If you read the links that faststang posted it tells you how to do it. YOU USE A JUMPER WIRE ON THE DIAGNOSIC TERMINALS UNDER THE HOOD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE...It make s your check engine light on the dash board flash, you then count the flashes and then check the number to the corresponding codes

Sometimes the dash light won't work. I know on mine it doesn't. I have a dash light but it doesnt work, I used a jumper and a test light from autozone. This should be the first thing you should do. I still think its your TPS.

How long have the wires been on and did it start after the header swap? Sounds too simple but have you checked your wires for arcing? you can do that real easy at night!!! LOL I emplore the K.I.S.S. method (keep it simple stupid). Also look the cap over for cracks or hair line fractures... if your firing more than 1 cylinder at once it can easliy do what your describing....
