Tranny violently kicks out of 1st and 3rd!

When down shifting and under heavy acceleration my T-5(Fresh rebuild 1200 miles) It kicks out of first and third gear.I was thinking my syncronizers are shot but a friend of mine said because the tranny was "new" it might be a bent "shifter fork".Whats yalls take on it?

Shifter forks do not bend in a T5, they break. Like 1gunner23 mentioned, do yo have an aftermarket shifter and if so are the stops adjusted properly? Try backing them off all the way and see what happens. And just a little FYI, just because a T5 is rebuild doesn't mean its still good. It could be rebuild today and broke tomorrow. That is one of the weaker links in Mustangs. Some T5s are good but most are not.

I agree, misconception to adjust a stop is so it goes into gear just enough, but its usually not enough. stops are to be set at full depth plus @.010" clearance

If the entire clutch setup is stock then pull the clutch pedal up towards the Dash.
The stock setup is a ratchet setup. And to adjust you pull the Pedal up.

I highly doubt that it has anything to do with your shift forks at all. Like Darrel said, most shift forks are made of aluminum, they never bend, they get destroyed. Plus, if there was a problem with the forks it would a problem in first and second at the same time or 3rd and 4th at the same time. The 1-2 shift fork controls those gears, etc. Does it immediately pop out of gear under hard acceleration or does it take a moment. If it is immediated my guess is someone might not have rebuilt it properly and replaced all the components that were needed. The blocker rings in the synchro might be starting to get worn down. Anyone that rebuilds a manual transmission should always replace these. Thats one of the more notorious problems with the t5. Or it might be something with the detent springs not holding the right amount to keep it from popping out of gear.

Is it possible that the nylon pads that the shifter pushes to put the car into gear may be worn? I know that the shifter doesnt put the car fully into gear(most likely why it will kicks out) because i can up shift without the clutch disengauging(look Ma, no peddle!) as long as im accelerating. How do i adjust how far into gear the shifter puts the car? Or is that an in tranny adjustment?

By the way i have a "stage 2" clutch installed.I guess thats a twin plate clutch or a thicker and stickier clutch right? I know that my car launches so hard it aint funny! I wanna get my car ready to go get some drag times. I know i could run a high 12 how it is now with goals of low 10's someday.

screemin,it takes a sec or two to kick out .But from a stop if i revv the motor before i take off it'll kick out and then wont go back into 1st unless i put it in 2nd then back into 1st.When it kicks outta 3rd i gotta up shift then back into 3rd. That works even if i dont let the clutch out as long as i put the shifter into any higher gear before i put it back into the gear that it just threw.Thats why i'm thinkin it's the syncronizers, got any more ideas?

I tried to adjust my clutch pedal but it is not a ratchet type set up.in the dark of course,i looked at it and tried to pull the pedal up but yah ok no go.the pedal pivots on a bracket and pulls the cable directly.Ima look in the daytime and im sure im gonna find an adjuster bolt of some sort right?

I had a brain fart today, yeah it surprised me too! I bought the car a few months ago and it had been sitting for almost a year then.Of course anyone who knows anything about cars will check all the fluids before driving it right? Well i did an oil change, flushed the cooling system, and checked the power steering fluid level. You know what i never checked? Duh the gear oil level in the tranny! I'm not sayin that is the problem but it would be a good start i suppose.I'm gonna do it tommorrow after i get another pair of jack-stands to get the car up and level. I guess i'll change the gear oil in the pumpkin too while under there. I'll let yall know what it looks like when im done.
