Airbag light blinks

This may be a crazy question but does anybody know of any reason that the airbag light would be blinking? This actually begin a few years ago but being up here in Alaska I only get to run the car 4 or 5 months out of the year and just forget to research the problem. I do not remember what happened for it to start blinking.

It has never been wrecked. I want to say that it happened after I had just had the T-56 installed but not 100% sure. I was downshifting to 4th but hit 2nd instead, oops. Anyway, I haven't had any issues with the tranny, luckily but I am very cautious now when downshifting. Especially at highway speeds.

Mine did that after I changed steering wheels... It was a bad connection at the column.. BE CAREFUL!!!!! It can go off accidentally so only mess with it if the battery is disconnected.

Very good point. I am going to have to check the connection.

It sounds crazy that I have not taken care of it yet but when I do look down and see it blinking I then start to think "what if this thing goes off"? Not funny from my perspective but I'm thinking that it might be pretty amusing from the next car over. As long as it doesn't cause an accident. LOL.

Was it obvious which connection was for the airbag or did you use a diagram or google it?
