Rear gear question

Could someone please tell me what the stock rear gear was for the '92 GT? I believe it was either 3.08's or 3.27's but cannot remember which.

Thx, Dave

Pulled this from another site....
With the transmission in neutral and the car safely raised up, one turn of the rear wheels will spin the driveshaft a number of times.

2-3/4 turns would be 2.73's

3 turns would be 3.08's

3 1/4 turns would be 3.27's

3 1/2 turns would be 3.55's

3 3/4 turns would be 3.73's

Thanks for the info but I am not sure how many turns it made when I had the stock gears in. I have had 3.73's in for the past few years. I thought I would be able to Google the answer but not as cut and dry as I had thought.

take a sharpy draw a streight line down the driveshaft about 6 inches and count how many turns that goes around compared to the tires 1 time of going around.

If you have 3.73 in it now why do you need to know what stock was ?

3.08 and 2.73

autos had an option of 3.27

I purchased a PMS from AFM and with the computer came a sheet that I fax back to them filled out with various info so that they can setup a tune for me. One of the questions is "original ring & pinion and current ring & pinion".

Thanks for the info ryanw

My 91 GT with a T5 came with 308's but I changed it to 410's. It's not too much gear as I've heard some claim.

Stock gear ratio would be 2.73 manual or auto, optional for a 5 speed would be 3.08, optional for the auto would be 3.27.
