Question

Anyone have experience with e85?

i recently converted my car over it was running great until it was acutally switched to e85 (it was e70 until about a week ago) i was curious if anyone else had switched over.

probelms are loss of power it seems like and lots of bucking. im not sure what to do about it at this point any input is great thanks

im guessing it needs to be tuned, but a second opinion would help LOL

Did you get a tune for this? Is your fuel pump and injectors sized properly? Takes more ethanol to do the same job, but the btu's is actually higher when you compare the correct desired A/F ratio between the two. You should actually see a slight bump in power.

Sounds like its running lean. E85 requires aprox. 30% more fuel than regular gas. We've been running E85 in my son's bracket racer for the past couple years. We sent the carb to Pro Systems for the conversion. The carb is jetted big, the squirters are big and it uses a gallon every pass!

i know i just dont have the money for it at the moment hopefully in a few weeks i will (just got my job back this week) it run like shit when i first start it but after running for over a half hour it starts running perfect. i can only assume its because its not tuned.

is getting the sct chip a bad idea? its what my local tuner reccomended i get.
