88 GT brakes

If I already started this thread ....I apologize. My 88GT quit running( fond out it was the fuel pump). Now the brake pedal only goes down about an inch or two and is very hard to push. Checked vacuum and bled the brakes...no difference. They were fine when the car stopped running. I even checked the breake lines for damage cumming off my trailer. Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad brake booster or a bad seal in the brake booster

Did you check to see if there is vaccum on the line going in to the booster?

When I pulled the line to the booster, it seemed to have all kinds of vaccum. Is it possible for a booster to just "GO BAD"?The day the car quit running ...the brakes were fine????????

I fixed them. Believe it or not , it was the vaccume check valve on the power booster. Put a new one on(4$) and they work fine....lol
