wiring harness
Does anyone know where the heck i can find the short harness that connects the O2 sensors to the main harness.. It is a short "Y" harness.
This is for an 86 and seems to be impossible to find for that year. |

If u can find one in a 86-93 5.0 they will fit it. I would check a junk yard.

I know that 86 is a stand alone wiring harness... 87-93 had a different O2 sensor wiring.. The 86 uses 3 wires and 87-93 uses 4 if i am correct... however I do know forsure that the plug heads are of a different size between the 86 and later ones.
But thanks everyone for the help... much appreciated |

why get one from a junk yard. i mean unless there is a money issue. i had to replace mine because of age, so i got a new one and it works great.
also there is a diffence on 86 than 87-93. the plug looks the same but it is clock diffent. i tried this all ready

20 year old wires !!!!!!!!!
well there maybe some truth to that. i think if ( and i was told this so i dont know ) you put the 87- up harness on it will work if you also go with 87- up O2 to match.
good luck. I would not buy any wires from a junk yard unless i HAD TO. if you can get them new i would .And you asked if anyone knew were to buy them so there you have it. I did the leg work for you and gave you a website and a link to the new O2's at a great price. Like i said I just did this to my 86 and it worked fine. ( side note i am running a 89-93 PCM my car has had the mass air convertion ) I said that just because it shows that the computers probly dont care what harness you get as long as all the wires match up. 86blkmustang did it to his 86 with parts from a 91 so i pretty sure the pcm's are good with it. and mine has a newer PCM. but i just did not want used 20 year wires.
