What do you guys think about a custom exhaust system

i want a new exhaust system so i went to the local exhaust shop and he told me he can make exactly what i want himself and put the mufflers that i want in...i was just wondering if any of you guys have ever had a custom exhaust and some things i should ask the guy and what to expect from them, lemme know, thanks

Either way, its probably cheaper to buy a top of the line setup than to get a custom one.

I don't know why so many people try to step out of the box with almsot 20 year old cars. Highly doubt it'll be stainless or mandrel. Buy and exhaust already, it's cheaper.

Yea, like these guys said. There's so much of an aftermarket for these cars, going custom will just cost more than buying pre-made stuff. Especially if you're going to keep shorties

Cheap? It's metal pypes. If you don't want to be cheap just don't buy anything bbk. Get an x pipe, longtube, and any mufflers you please.

500 is a pretty good deal, if the guy told you stainless, and there's no reason to doubt him, plus it's easy enough to verify that in advance, and he's saving you the hassle of installing it, then great! I've installed 2 out of the box aftermarket kits, magnaflow and bbk, and it was a huge pain the ass prying everything open to fit. I say go for it.

does that include tips? a good cat back system comes with nice polished tips, waste of 500 with out em

as long as its mandrel bent and he uses all the right connectors. make sure he doest weld it all into 1 peice from the header out the rear umper or you will never get it off if you have to, and make sure he doesnt cheap out and weld the mid pipe to your headers.... a buddy of mine had a shop cheap out and weld hit mid pipe to his new long tubes on his g8 gt, lets just say he was pissed

500 for everything including tips and mufflers AND the hpipe is a good deal, id probably do that. As long as you're getting what you want then thats all that matters right?

Its 500 for everything you say? It'll be that much plus installation for a normal set up...go for it man.

i got a custom H-pipe made from stainless, bought an SLP kit, sold the resonators and tips, put a straight through pipe in the centre section, rear put on some custom chrome silencers.

do you YOU want to do its your car and YOUR choice... if you wanna spoil your baby then you do it...

for the entire set up $500 is cheap as chips especially if its stainless... just make sure you have the tips you want on the car (if not standard) and the centre boxes are what you want too...
