Question

5.0 EFI to carb swap questions

Ok so here's the deal. I recently picked up an 88 notch with an EFI set up on it that I didn't want. I took it off and traded it flat out for an almost complete Carb set up (holly carb, edelbrock intake, edelbrock fuel pump, FPR, 85 distributor, and 85 throttle cable). I have already taken out all of the EFI harness and there are a few wiring, vacuum line, and other misc. questions I have.

****I have searched for days and cannot find answers to these questions!!****

1. On the side of the EFI under-hood fuse box connected to the EFI harness there was a positive terminal that a bunch of wires ran to that are still connected to the chassis harness. Where do I connect these? I do not have a remote starter solenoid do I need one?

2. Can I use the Stock EFI hard fuel lines? or should I run new ones?

3. I have an 83 gas tank laying around that I need to sump. Can I use an 81-84 fuel sending unit and still have my gas gauge work?

4. what vacuum lines will i need to run? i know one to the booster and one to the vacuum advance on the distributor any others?

Thanks for the help.

Personally I don't know what your talking about when you say all the positive wires.... picture would help

But I would run my own lines personally, your gonna need to run a different regulartor and are going to need a return to keep it streetable and reliable. Dead head systems love taking a crap quick. Using the older tank and sumping it would work, or just using your existing tank and sumping it would work too... I would use what you have and then you can keep the fuel gauge working properly....

Your gonna need a vacuum line from the carb to the brake booster and to the distributer and should be set.

Thank you sir. I figured out the positive wires issue but now I need to figure out which wires are for the oil pressure sending unit, temp sensor, and fuel pump since the relay is now gone. As well as how to wire my alternator up as for running a return line will using one of the stock hard line be okay to use? I am switching to -8 lines to the pump FPR and carb. Since your the only one who could help or try to help I have a Mallory Hyfire IVc im going to use but I don't have the Duraspark ignition set up so i do not know where to run the red wire in figure 9 in the book found here.
