ahhh no pic, i can try sometime( still seems like i daunting task to me lol im still a noob) but.... the smog pump is held on by 2 bolts one at the top and one on the bottom. I removed the bottom bolt, but when i went to remove the top bolt the head of the bolt twisted off so im left with the remainder of the bolt in the smog pump and still threaded into the bracket, hopefully that is a better explanation( after reading my other post i was even confused lol sorry) any ways, i was just seeing if any of you guys had any ideas on how to remove the rest of the bolt or how to remove the pump.

My only idea is to basically remove the enitire accesory bracket that the smog pump is attatched to and take it out the car and just cut if off since i have no plans to reuse the smog pump.... but that seems like alot of work and now im afraid ill break more bolts and.... im not even sure if its worth the trouble

Not sure how much room you're working with, don't think I've ever even had a fox with a smog pump still on it. But you can either drill it out or heat it up and use a screw extractor. If it mounts to a removable plate and space is tight to do either of the two I mentioned, pulling the mounting plate might be the best way. Would that be the plate that also holds the alternator on? If so, it's pretty easy to get off. Just make sure you soak the bolts in penetrating fluid for a few hours first if they're breaking easily. If one feels like it's gonna snap the head off, hit it with the propane and get it hot.

Been there... Except I bought a handful of belts and returned the ones that didn't work. And I actually break about everything I touch, lulz.

Hahahaha.... Yeah, there's two common ways to route the belt depending what you are running for accessories. Two WAY different belt lengths

if you have to take the accessory bracket off, its not a big deal, its held on by 3-4 bolts, you may have to remove the intentioner to get to one of them.....

The bolt that got stuck on the power steering, was it the long stud that screws into the cylinder head, if so you remove that by putting two nuts on it, then tighten them up and then just unscrew it, the second nut becomes a jam nut

i tried the 2 nut method and when i would do it they would both just unscrew each other, i was probably doing it wrong tho, was i supposed to tighten them all the way up the the p/s? i just kinda did it half way through the threads..... any way we ended up getting them off, I just couldnt get the vice grips tight enough but my dad was able to

i had my power steering pump off, with just the stud sticking out......Ya i just put two nuts on, and off it came.....and mine were in the middle of the threads.

You could have tried 3 nuts

Also putting a little heat on the cylinder head may have helped, not to much though,(unless there aluminum, then i would not add any heat) and penetration oil, helps. Im lucky, California cars don't usually have the same issues as other states do

ya my car is a rusted peice of shit(but i love her) so every thing is corroded and stuff making everything alot harder and prone to snapping, like honestly when i pulled the carpet to do some "minor" patching i felt sick when i saw that my feet were being held up by the carpet and the more i dug in the rustier it got. But it runs like a champ and is fun as hell, looking back i just was to excited to get a 5spd and didnt look hard enough but now i know

Me and my friends learned a long time ago to bring a second set of eyes. We've had Mustangs for more than 13 years each, but when it's YOU buying the car, you miss so much cuz you just want to see all the positives. When I went to look at my car, I was by myself, but I had my buddy on the phone with me. They 'remind' you of things to check.
And for the two nut method, you have to tighten the nuts against one another really tight. They can be anywhere along the length of the threads. You loosen the one while tightening the other 'into' each other. Then you put your wrench on the inside one (the one closest to the part that you are trying to remove it out of) and unscrew it.
