my coupe build

alright like i said in my intro thred i was going to drop the mustang and i did its almost 4 in the front and 2ish in the back putting in the front springs was a mission i had to take off the caliber shock brake line sway bar and even with the a arm as far as possible i still had to pry it in but here it is

and i just came back from looking at some parts and im picking up
-msd 6AL
-gt40 heads port polish and bigger valves
-a 4inch cowl hood
-the head lights
-and a ac vent gauge pod so its a little bit cleaner

he is giving me a week to pick them up because my radiator started leaking and my front tires are about to die so those are first
im going to update this thread with pictures next week when i get the stuff but what do yall think of the drop???

If your budget allows it, I'd skip the 6al and get a digital 6, otherwise youll be replacing the box every year and a half.

Read under the photos I am picking up the clears and I'm trying to get the badges off.....
Right now I got a great deal on all those parts so the 6al will work but when it goes I will look into the digital 6

Thanks guy

150 shot is nice, but make sure everything is set up for nitrous. You can melt down a piston pretty quick. I was a nitrous guy at one time but have moved up to better power without a power adders. Build the heck out of a motor and get the power dont look for the quick and easy power like adding nitrous..lol

Just to do your homework on the 351w, people say the swap is easy which it is if you have all the right parts. Besure to use 351 swap headers for the fox mustang I'm running the BBK ones. Look on the internet and read all the information you can find on the 351w certain years can hold more power and produce more torque. Mine is a 70' model it has the bigger plugs and valves then the newer 351's. Also a lot of people dont know but 351 are bad on oil pressure, its not uncommon to see them get low as 15-20 psi at idle! at cold start they can be up around 50-60psi then drop down. Almost every 351 i've seen has been this way even my 69 mustang had low oil pressure and it was all factory motor.
My best advice is do your homework and you should be fine. I love my lil coupe it is a lot of fun on the street.

??????? Huh???

So a certain 351 can produce more torque than another 351? The early blocks have a higher iron content, and are a little stronger, but it has nothing to do with how much torque they can produce. As far as power producing capabilities from a stock block, they're all the same. '69-'74 are generally considered the strongest for holding power.

Who uses stock heads on a performance build anyways? Stock 351W heads are total junk. If you're running stock 351W heads, you can make more power with a 302.

Fr oil pressure, you need 8 psi per 1000 RPMs, so unless you're idling at about 3000 RPMs, 15-20 at idle is golden. It's perfectly normal to have more on startup, than after it warms up. You see, when oil gets hot, it gets thin, which cause it to push through easier, creating less oil pressure. I've never had an oiling problem with any Windsor motor.

Bigger plugs and valves from a new 351? Actually, the '69-'70 heads had the largest valves of any at 1.84/1.56. As they got newer, the heads got FAR worse.
