to be truthful id just get a new one or find a deal on a used something, i just picked up a trickflow trackheat with spacer at carlisle this year looks like it will flow its balls off compared to my ported cobra, plus the runners are more of a straight shot not angled like 1 an 8 i wanna say on the gt40 style, but if funds are tight by all means port it up, i noticed a difference when i did my upper n lower up.. 2nd gear just melted!!!

Hey GM I looked at that post ya put up about porting the lower GT40 and i was wondering if i wild notice that much of a difference with stock heads? I am going to be using mine with a Kenne Bell setup. Do you think i should try porting it now or just wait till I upgrade the heads? Also if I did it I would be worried bout takeing to much off?

How to Port E7's -Check that out! I didn’t go as crazy as the article did when they ported, didn’t want do any puddle welding... I had ported e7's with e-303 but I had a shit C&L mass air meter and couldn’t really tell what the gains were then I sank some money in gt40p heads n had them milled down to raise compression n got a pro-m mass air that was sweet but the engine shop I take a lot of my parts to told me to pick up some pro comps and have them reskimmed so they are flat, they might not be good heads right out of the box but they flow surprisingly well, they also told me its the same grade aluminum that edelbrock uses... Or pick up some explorer gt40p heads an run them with your kenne bell that would be a good 400+, its all what you can afford!

well i have the money to get a better intake i was just wondering since i already had the gt40 one so it would be worth the money to buy a new intake instead of porting the one i have ?

Thanks GM! I think i will just put the GT40 on for now with the KB. I will run it like that for now since the stock heads are going to hold me back anyhow. I am going to try and save some cash for a 331 or 306 short block and set of Trick Flow heads then i will port that GT40 and put the KB back top of that combo. That should make a good set up and have plenty of power for me!

id pick up a new one or deal on used, gt40 is only good for so much inless tmoss is porting it..you will want something better when the time comes to change your combo up..just my opinion tho... i wanted to chop my cobra intake in half and really port it and the engine shop i deal with started laughing n told me its not worth the time to go buy a better intake or a nitrous kit
