New car! And injector question.
So I sold my '90 LX 5spd (black) and just happened to trade my quad for another '90 LX 5spd (red.)
I'm a man of variety. Anyways, the new one was a pretty sweet deal. TFS setup with the twisted wedge heads, stage 1 cam, rollers, etc etc etc. 70m MAF and TB, MSD ignition module, bored .040 over, full exhaust, 9.5:1 compression, and 30# injectors. Judging by the choice of compression and Massive injectors, I'm going to assume he was readying himself for a healthy shot of spray or some other poweradder? I, however, am not. So compression aside, would I be better off with some stock 19# which I have laying around, or trading someone for some 24#'s? Also, what numbers can I be expecting from a very guesstimation point of view? Some of us live in small towns without a dyno =) A few things are missing, like decent fuel rails and upper plenum. But I'm still curious. |

TFS recommends changing the injectors to 30# units when adding their HCI setup. They used t recommend 24# injectors, but have since changed. Maybe they know something we don't??
I'd leave them in the car.

i am running 300 HP off of my 19s . now that being said i need 24's
not for more HP but i have my 19s maxed out and my fuel presure turned up as high as i can get it. i did have 24s in , but i had bad O2's and wiresing problems and dropped back to 19s and now that i have that worked out i feel the 24's would best suit me. 30's are very big for most set up's , think about this if you cant spray it hard to make a fine mist. your dumpping fuel in thats not getting burned. just my 2-cents

Mmm, fabulous news. Further inspection (ignoring the retardation of the seller) has shed some light on the subject, and the motor.
http://www.tonisenterprises.com/faster5.0/ford308.html That's the long block he bought, with the upgraded this and that. Forged pistons, ARP bolts (super important, I'm sure.) So that's what's restricted by a stock upper/lower intake, massive injectors, and stock exhaust. Anything relating to parts in my previous post was word of mouth, these are the stamped numbers. New opinions on how to reach those posted numbers? Could I do it with leaning, intake, and exhaust? |
