Question

1986 gt roller to buy or not to buy????

Here's the scoop my neighbors are mustang freaks as am I. Well they are losing their house and need money they have a 1986 gt mustang roller no engine no trans but they have a couple of 5.0 ho's that need gone through. This car has alot of body work done to it, as in metal work not
Much bondo the guy I'm getting it off of is a body guy and there are a couple imperfections in the car because it had sat out for a yr but with a wet sand and buff it would get respect. Anyways all the interior is in it and not in bad shape and the rear end is there with 3.73 gear and k member, it needs brakes, I can get the car for $400 and it has a 4 or 5" cowl hood. What do ya think can of worms? I will try to get some pics up ASAP thanks o and I can prolly get one of the motors for I'm guessing $200 or $300, one has a newer set of world heads I believe they said the engine lost oil pressure so they pulled it and bought a dss block??

Honestly if you can do the work yourself there should be no question not to get it.... The hood alone is 300+ beaks are a trip to the junk yard and block go for almost nothing then your heads.... Does it come with all fuel lines/pump? Is it auto does it had the drive shaft and trans?

Fuel lines and pump I'm not sure? No trans it had a t5 in it, a little body work hear and there and she would look great floor pans are solid.

Ya I figured Id buy it and eventually make a drag car or just a nice everyday driver, I love these 4 eyed cars and if I didn't buy this one I'd probably kick myself And for $400 with title I can put it in storage and work on it slowly

Sounds good, but plan your budget.. are you ready to pour money into a project.. maybe long term it would be cheaper to save up and get a car that someone has already done some mods too and continue their project. But if you enjoy the work and can afford it i would say go for it.

See thats the thing I already have a mint 86 gt with a 351w that screams! I figured I could use a project and I'd like to start one that way I know what is done to it and do it the way I want to do it. Also I just found another great deal, it's a 302 out of a 91 only 80,000 on the engine and it is super clean and a t5 this guy is pulling because he bought a dss block and a Paxton, motor and trans for $800!!! It's still in the car gonna go hear it run and drive it before he pulls it. So basically $1200 into the car so far, plus all the little bs I'd still have to get.
