picked up a 302.

Ive got a 302 that came out of a drag car, its been sitting, there is rusty water in cyl bores. I plan on tearing it down and honing it possibly new rings n bearings, motor was just rebuilt don't think it ever ran cant see a bit of carbon on any parts.. It has victor jr. heads and intake, intake spacer, also a power automatic 3 speed trans?? I need to know how to adjust the rocker arms properly, they are 1.6 ratio aluminum rockers mounted on studs witha djustable bolts. motor has edelbrock heads, intake, spacer, bbk headers etc, flatop pistons, they stock almost flush with top of deck, what kinda HP am i lookin at?

it will depend on what type of cam you have in it. It may have been build a mechanical. in that case you would have to set the valve lash where it runs the best. i would say around .013". If its a hydro roller it should be set at .000 valve lash. i may be wrong on this a little bit. if there is rusty anything anywhere i would tear it down and redo it all if you cant clean the parts. i say better be safe and spend a little more then blow it up later. then you will have a big money pit.

Just done my Edel heads:

Torque on the heads is 80ft lbs max. as the bolts have already been used tighten in 3 stages, 30,60 then 80ft lbs

if you buy new head bolts 60, then 80tf lbs

Use loctite 572 on the outer bolt sets to stop engine gasket failure.

sorry im not sure on the other bits.
