Why would you want to? Imo, its not worth the 2-3 hp gain.

I thought the water pump had to spin a certain way, clockwise I think. I don't think you'd be able to route a belt to spin the pump that way without having a pulley on the driver side of the motor. I could be wrong though.

Yes you can as long as you get a P/S relocation bracket otherwise the belt wont clear the water pump pulley. the belt will travel in the same direction as before.

the way i see it is the less crap you have in there the less there is to fix when it goes wrong... also your losing a nice bit of weight and making the engine bay look cleaner...

just be prepapred to make some minor adjustments to the timing at the distributor.

good luck

Why adjust the timing? Less drag on the motor so it would idle higher?

*ding ding ding*

we have a winner

its not noticeable at first but if your climbing up a slope or hill you can hear it firing too late... its only a minor adjustment but it annoyed me when i removed the smog pump... now i've taken out the P/S and A/C im gonna have to do a minor adjustment once the motor is back together...

you should be able to get a bracket from any large motorfactor like latemodelrestoration or summit racing...

this is an example of what your looking for:
1985-93 Mustang 5.0L Ford Racing Air Conditioner (A/C Delete) Eliminator Bracket, M-8511-A50 at LRS - Same Day Shipping!

as i said above only a minor adjustment to your timing to advance but only if you notice it fires late...

I am planning to go to manual steering later on. My car is already a non A/C car from the factory...By all I've seen, I'll have to find an A/C bracket and install that and use an A/C delete pulley to keep the serpentine belt right?

if you go to march performance they produce a set of brackets that you can use... im doing the same thing changed to a manual rack as well and since i got a new waterpump only last year i dont wanna get a new one...

get an alternator bracket and the a/c delete plate which holds the belt tensioner giving you 4 pulleys in use keeping the stock rotation. crank, water, alt, tensioner

By looking at those serpentine systems. They do not have the belt routed correctly. That makes me think the water pump will not operate properly.

it is the correct rotation just different areas of the pulleys are in contact with the belt.

if it seems confusing draw the location of each pulley on a piece of paper and then draw a line the belt follows around each one...

i would not be modifying my motor to take this set up if i didnt know it worked

have a little faith n trust me
