rocker arm questions

Hey all, I have a set of trick flow 170's that need rocker arms. I know they're 7/16's stud mount, and I think 1.6 ratio are what I need? Can anyone give me some suggestions on which brands/sizes to look for, and anything else I would need to install them? Thanks for your time.

Can anyone tell me if they're using TF heads, and what rockers they're using on them?

I have TW 170's on my 82 Capri. I am using 1.6 Harland Sharp with 3/8" stud, because my heads came with 3/8" studs. My son has TEA TW 185's on his Mustang and he is using Scorpion 1.6 with 7/16" studs. Both work great!!

TW also require a custom length pushrod, usually in the 6.70" range, but I have used 6.55" before also. Follow the instruction with the TW heads and it will explain how to check for proper length pushrods!

Thanks again for the info Horse! I heard there's some flooding going on up that way around the air force base. Is it affecting you?

Actually the air base is free & clear, its just down town minot. I live 7 miles east of Minot, so I'm OK. But here's a pic of my buddies house(notice the 25 mph sign, its usually 5 ft. off of the ground!) Below that is a pic of the swimming pool in the park, which is now one big swimming pool!

You don't have to use Trick Flow rocker arms with TW heads. Most rocker arms will work. I use Comp Cam Ultra Golds on mine.

Make sure you measure for pushrod length. Nobody can tell you what size it will be, and if you don't have proper valvetrain geometry, it will cost you horsepower, and cause premature wear on your valvetrain components. Also, make sure you're using the right guideplates for TW heads.
