NOISE [ TAPPING ]

Got in my truck this morning to go to work,turn the key & I heard a tapping sound.
I was running a tight schedule getting to work,so I could not check it out throughly.
I just check the oil stick[ there was oil ] & decided to go ahead & take my stang to work.
No check engine light came on, anyone have any ideas what this could be ?
Maybe an oil sending unit, bad oil pump ?
I appreciate you guys input.

last time I drove it was on Thursday, no problems.

wrong section, but maybe your exhaust is tapping on the frame or something?

Wouldn't their be an advance warning ?
Such as hearing a light tapping noise ?
Loss of power, rough idle, check engine light coming on ?

that mechanical failure.

computers read the sensors.
