Roughly how much power?

Hey ya'll. I'm about to buy a 302 bored .20 over, aluminum roller rockers, forged internals, trickflow stage 2 cam, not so sure about the heads, typhoon upper and lower intakes. Just wonderin how much power you's think it would be making roughly.

depending on the heads... 300-350hp is my guess. At the flywheel.

Forged internals? Like crank, rods, and pistons? The stock bottom end has forged pistons, and will handle more power than the block. Unless you've already bought that stuff, I'd save my money, because they add no power, and not really necessary.

Power depends on the heads. If you buy good heads, you can 280-300 at the tires.

I havn't purchased anything yet. just a good deal I'm getting. I'm buying a motor with all that already done to it, rebuilt tranny, and brand new clutch for 700 bucks. I believe he said that somethin is done to the heads, but the guy I'm buying it from is selling it for his nephew, so he's not 100% sure on some of the stuff. so judging by the price, I think I'm gonna go for it. you think its worth it? I just wanna drop it in and see what happens. haha. just a bit more power for now, gonna supercharge it, put some good heads on it and drive it till I can afford to build the stroker I want to build.

but it'll be stronger then my stock 302 I assume? just somethin a littel better to build off of kinda deal is what I'm thinkin. my stock motor is getting kinda tired, so this is just a better option in my opinion then rebuilding the stock one.

what they are saying is there is no reason to do forged internals on a stock block. the stock bottum end will handle more hp than the stock block will, so why spend more money on forged bottum end parts that will never see enough hp to make them worth their money.

no it wont be stronger than your stock 5.0. it might make more power yes but depending on the price your about to pay you could be losing a lot of money a bored over 302 is just gona be a 306 which doesnt mean squat except that the motor is fresh but you can buy some nice aluminum heads for under 1000$ and a intake for 400 or so and that trick flow cam is gona cost you about 150 or so. and a h/c/i set up on a 302 is gona net you about 270-300 at the wheels

See, I'm buying the motor and a rebuilt tranny for 750 bucks. all is new and fresh. I'm just thinkin it would be somethin a little bit better to build off of for the price, cause my motor is gettin kinda tired right now. so, I'm just gonna drop it in the whole for now untill I can afford to build it, but I'm thinkin on trickflow twisted wedge heads, probly intakes to match, some bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, msd ignition, and 8psi out of a supercharger. all in time though of course.

a fresh motor should cost you around 500, so even if that engine has only gt40 heads and intake at 750 its a good deal, and of course a fresh motor would be a good starting place but since it is a rebuilt engine you should try and get as much proof of the parts that are in it, you dont want anything thats been rebuilt with parts that are worse off than the factory stuff, main thing being that they put forged pistons back in.

stock is like 220hp i believe at the wheels in a Manuel car. so id go with an easy 250-300hp to the wheels if the heads have been modified.

recore is an unknown quantity at this point

If it's all what the seller is telling you it is, and what you're telling us it is, its a good deal. The fact that the forged internals will outlast the block is irrelevant at this point.

Ever 5.0 I see completely stock puts out around 180-195 to the wheels.. Depending on if its a factory freak or not and manual or auto. I have seen then in the 170's.. Hell "Dare I say this" But the 5.0 budget build HP TV did back in the day, that fox only put out 186 I think it was before they started to upgrade it with a h/c/i swap.. I have done a h/c/i swap on my 95 and I got 289 at the wheels with a Cobra intake mani and a bit more when I added the TFS Race mani. I would guess right at 300 or a little over cause I trapped 5 mph more after that swap.. I would love to see a 225 @ the Crank Car do 220 on the wheels... cause I would want that drive train asap...
