Oil Pressure problem
I Just bought a 95 GT with moderately modified 5.0. Car runs great and has lots of power but once completely up to operating temp the oil pressure gauge drops to zero at idle and I start hearing what sounds like lifter rattle, especially when shifting. none of this present when cold. Gauge jumps right back to normal as soon as I touch the accelerator. Is this an actual oiling poblem or an electrical problem with the gauge? Is lifter rattle normal at temp?

+1 oil pump i would guess as well... lifter rattle shouldnt be heard at normal temp there should always be a constant flow of oil to lubricate...

i would get a cheap mechanical oil pressure gauge to see what the oil pressure really is at. if it really is low, you could try running some thicker oil as a temporary fix until you can properly diagnose the problem.
