You could put mostly mild components in and then do a small turbo or supercharger? maybe nitrous?

I'm not talking about 2g's for the whole car, just the engine. I want to run nitrous and mid 12's would be great but I was shooting for the 11's

At 2850 pounds, it won't take much to run 11s.

Ported heads and intake, cam and some headers. The rest on traction and presto- 11's. Might be a little more to it than that, but oh well, sounds good.

mustang II's suck at actually hooking up and 351 are not that cheap to build up. its going to take close to 2grand and then the suspension will have to be modified greatly to actually use the power.

If the car truely only weighs 2850 with driver and fuel $2000 could cover the engine provided a guy could find a used set of heads and some other used parts. I'd use a stock crank and rods, some cheapy cast pistons, a solid flat tappet cam, good set of aftermarket heads, a Victor Jr. and a 750 Holley. That car will scream. We had a 77 Mustang II years ago that we put a real mild 351W in and it definitely hauled the mail. A friend of mine has a 76 II with a 429. That car moves along pretty good too.

2 G's Pretty Hard?
there is no way in hell you are going to make that 351w hit 11's with that kind of money! Man im about to swap a 351w into a 89 lx and the 74' block was sold to me with the msd distributor, edelbrock ram air gap intake manifold, 650 holley carb, lunati cam, hooker headers, edelbrock waterpump, march pulleys for 2,000 dollars and that is getting hook up! I think that all the componets from my engine are almost hitting 2,000 dollars see told you!
Good Luck to the 351w's |

there's a notchback in town that run 10.88 and its only got a 302 w/ 310whp. and it only cost him around $1000 on the motor. its not gonna be that hard to get ur car to go 11's. just make sure you have a nice suspention set-up

dont forget you need:
a water pump an oil pump an iginition system (box, dist, coil, plugs, wires) a decent carb correct oil pan new rod bolts, head bolts, other bolts piston rings bearings balancer gaskets paint, assembly lube, silicone, etc... hoses, radiator, etc... fuel pressure regulator headers air filter valve covers Ooops did I spend more than $2000 That is how it happens, nobody ever bothers to remember how much it actually costs.
