Thanks! I'll grab one tomorrow. You've saved me a ton of trouble having to take the whole linkage out to show them.

Steering is back up to spec, fixed the vacuum leak issue, and pulled most of the plastic panels and painted them black along with a new black carpet inside, and doing an R134a conversion on the car in a couple of days so it has A/C again. And the braking issue turned out to be one of the drum brakes needing to be adjusted. So far this isn't turning into much of a project lol.

I've decided to use it as a weekend driver for awhile so I'm going to get the stereo rewired in it. I have my old 6-disc from my 2001 but I'm unsure if it'll work without pre-amps for the back speakers from the Mach 460 sound system. Anyone have any experience with this? I've got a set of rear speakers from a Mach system if that'll help with compatibility issues.

You better do 4.10s! You wont regret it! I had 4.10's in my 88 lx 5 speed with full exhaust, gt40 heads, 70mm tbm, and bumped up timing and it was a beast. 1st gear is almost useless but it was fun

Didn't want to start a new thread just to list what's been done the past couple of weeks.

Barring a couple of electrical issues the car is running well, I drive it every other day. All the black trim on the car has been removed and repainted satin black, picked up a CAI from CL and managed to find some "vintage" (read: old) American Racing 15's in white that I put some Grand AM Radials on. Polished and restored the headlights and repainted the entire interior to gloss black with flat black door panels.

Unfortunately I'm unable to upload any images right now but have added a direct link to it here: View image: 90 LX 8 22 11

I'll snap a couple of shots this evening once I get the dash back together. Still have it apart from fixing the alt and I want to recalibrate the speedometer to be a little more accurate.

I got the dash back together and felt the car was clean enough to take a couple of pictures of

Mind you this was a completely red interior when I got the car, so badly faded parts of it were sun baked almost white. Until I figure out what I want to do seat-wise I just threw on some $10 black seat covers. Steering wheel is in bad shape so I put a cover on it as well until I get around to finding a good Grant wheel.

Anyway, enough excuses:

I apologize for the picture quality, it's very bright out today and I'm uploading these from my mobile phone. I really wish I had taken photos of before the painting process because it really does look 100 times better.

If you're wondering what materials were used I just used dawn dish soap and water to wash, lightly sanded most surfaces with 600 grit sand paper, and after that coated the dash with Krylon plastic paint in satin black, center console in gloss, doors in flat black vinyl and fabric paint, and replaced the red carpet with a black carpet from a wrecked 91.

The only red items left inside the car are the seat belts (which don't really look bad at all) and the seats, which are covered. Not bad for a build on a budget.
