The car has 45,000 org mines and yes i mean org. This car was owned by a collector who drove it around about 2,000 miles a year and sat in a garage for the past 5. South carolina car. This car will be one you see on barrett jackson or mecum someday. I'm 22 i own 2 classics and an up and coming. If you get my drift i want to stay as org as i can with aftermarket/ not any of this over powered modified counterparts. All i wanted to know is if anyone has done this form of job and what all they had to do. Before i spend 3,000.00 on everything (intake, heads, headers,tb,injectors, maf,rr,cams, lif ters, plugs, wires,
distrib and my time) has any one done this or know of it being done. A list of everything that is compatable to make this work

i can help you with this one. When i first got my car it was all stock other then a bbk coi, trick flow stage 2 cam, bbk shorty headers, flowmaster exhaust and a set of gt40x aluminum heads. With no tune the car put down 213.8rwhp and 280.8rwtq on the dyno and the a/f ratio was very good at 12.8 so i wondered why my numbers were so low? So i then added a 95 cobra upper and lower intake setup port matched and polished to the gt40x heads and honed a little of the intake to match a 70mm throttlebody, 30# injectors, bbk coi, aluminum underdrive pulleys, smog and ac deletes, and a 255lph fuel pump and the car jumped up to 262.7rwhp and 308.1rwtq. I could have had it tuned and knocked on 300rwhp door but i had other plans. That was my first lesson on how to properly match up bolt ons for max power. They all have to work together for the best gains. Now as far as sticking to all ford racing stuff more power to you as i did the same other then adding a turbo kit. The cobra intakes are great for the street as they are tuned for torque. They dont produce as much hp as the others like trick flow and holly but the torque numbers are no match compared to the the cobra stuff. Good luck!

Wow... that is really bad... my 5.0 dyno'd at 194/269 to the tires with nothing but a drop-in air filter, dumped magnaflows, and synthetic oil.

keep it stock and don't drive it

you can't keep it original and use aftermarket parts. and there's no such thing as original aftermarket parts, unless you're referring to something like the iron GT40 heads, which were original on a cobra, not your 5.0

ya the numbers were lower then usual because the pulls were done on a dyno dynamics dyno and theyre known for being very conservative. All of my other pulls and tunes were done on a dynojet and the numbers were alot different.
