Whats up with my AC? Put 1100.00 in it last summer blows hot

My 94 mustang was blowing cold air rarely and warm air mainly last summer so I bought a recharge kit and recharged it myself. It blew cold for one day so I took it to get it drained and recharged which was 175.00. It blew cold for 2 hours then I took it back and they guy told me its leaking out of the high pressure ac hose and that the hose costs 600.00 just for the part. I figured no hose is 600 so I took it somewhere else. The place I took it to replaced the hoses, the circle thingys in the lines and recharged it. This cost me 1100. It worked all summer. Now this summer it blows hot air again on all settings. What do I do?

The guy said it would cost me 2500+ if he had to take the next step. Should I just live with out ac? I have a complete list of what was done and can list it on here if it would help.

Thanks for the advice

First you have to find someone that wont rip you off.. Then you have to have them inject dye into your system and use the leak detector light to see if its leaking.. If it is not leaking then you prob have a bad compressor.. I cant believe they charged you that much for hoses and o-rings.. Can you say " Got Fucked"...

It could have leaked over a long period of time. might just need a recharge about every summer

If it is a slow leak, most likely it is on the low pressure side, the pressure equalizes when it is shut off. Also, a common problem is the schrader valves (tire looking valves) where the freon is put in/removed. The dye and light can be bought at any parts house and you can check it yourself, just do it in a dark area or at night, it will be easier to see. Good luck.

Yeah thats why you get it leak checked.. You should not have to do it every summer.. just fix it.. After 2 or 3 years of recharging costs you can just fix it

I put a can of recharge in it today and it actually blew somewhat colder air. How many cans do these ac's hold? Thanks
