long tube header help?

i need some new headers and i know the only way to go is long tubes. i looked on summit racing and flowtech and summit brand are like $120 for long tubes, when the bbks are like 350 and the headmend are over 700 bucks. do the flowtechs and summits suck that bad or why are they so cheap?

There is no compairison between the summit and bbk long tubes. bbk's are way heavier piping, thicker flanges and just an all around better header.

Here you go $310 to your door. Excellent deal.

If your on a budget, then buy them. Hell there worth a shot. May turn out to be a damn good header!!!! I have no experience with them, call summit and talk to a tech on them.

They surface rust quick, but any painted or uncoated header will do that. The coating these come with will literally fall off when you touch it, lol. It's like powdercoat they forgot to bake. The quality of them isn't the greatest, but they do copy a hooker design. They're more of a race header than a street header because they're slip fit primaries on a few tubes, so if you don't want leaks, weld up the slip fittings, or seal them with hi-temp RTV. The collector could also use some massaging on the inside with a die grinder to take care of the poor welds sticking out into the flow paths. I personally would take them over a BBK though, because they have a 3" actual collector, not a junk ball and socket flange about 3" from where the primaries meet. If you want to throw something in and not have to worry about it the BBK would suit you better. If you want a better designed header then get the summit one. They're just cheaply made so you will have to do some work to get them right.

The tubes are slip fit for a reason. The instructions tell you to cut the flange and install the pipes in different steps to make it easier to clear different things.

They are painted and that is it. It will not last longer than a couple startups.

The drivers side collector is too far to the outside of the car. This is STUPID! It may not sound like a big deal but the collector doesnt line up with the crossmember. You can make it work or buy the flowtech h pipe.

Otherwise they are ok. Not bad at all for a 125 bucks.

Yea I know they're like that for a reason. There's lots of headers like that, but they always leak at the slip joints. It's pretty easy to put those headers in as one piece so I always seal them up. Welded my super comps up too. I've put them in both ways and I'll never put another set of slip fit headers on a street car without sealing up the joints.

I used a hooker mid-pipe and it lined up fine. My super comps do the same thing where the drivers side is angled more to the outside of the car. Worked out nice because I went from those summit headers to the hookers and the mid-pipe was lined up exactly the same.

I'm sure they could make anything for you. I was just trying to make you aware that the collector is not a straight shot.

Not anything that would make sense financially. You could have them ceramic coated, but for the cost of that, you might as well just start out with some better headers. Header paint doesn't work, just in case you think it's a viable option.

Mummy Header Wrap Company Pharoh,Egypt They been around for awhile. Ordered and returned Summit, Floptech, BBK chrome, and kept the BBK ceramic coated long tubes. Ceramic keeps the heat down in engine compartment.

I have SLP ceramic coated stainless longtubes on my ws6. They have held up nice and look great. Just remember that ceramic coated mild steel will still rust out and the coating will flake off.
