can i take this off?

What is the box on the pass side frame infront of the sway bar. It looks to be some canister for gas fumes or something? It has a electrical connection and vac line from the intake and a hard line coming from the firewall. Can I take this whole thing out?

charcoal canister and the only reason to take it out is to clean up the bay a bit.

Mine's gone. No issues here. If you're getting a tune, just tell them to turn of the canister purge in the tune so you don't get a code for it.

The canister takes the gasoline fumes from the gas tank and purges them into the intake manifold so the fumes will be burned along with the air/fuel.
