Street tires at the track


I have hankook hr2'sthat are in good shape and an AOD w/4.10's.I headed to the track tommorow,and was wondering should i do a huge burnout or drive around the burnout box??

No burnout, drive around the water. Your probablly looking at 2.1-2.2 60's with that setup. Do you have a bigger stall.

No i just the trans rebuilt last month,and its all stock for now.Its got a k&n panel,76mmc&lMAF&inlet pipe,14degree timing advance,flowmaster cat back,and 4.10;'s,oh and full length sfc's and an o/r h-pipe

Roll through and do a quick peel out. It will take the dirt off the tires. Leave alittle faster than you would leave a red light. Once you hit second punch it. Good Luck and have have

Never do a big nasty burnout on street tires. It makes them greasy. Their compound is not the same as a slick or DR. Just give them a quick buzz to clean them up. They will have plenty of heat in them from the drive over.

Ok just got back from a great night at atco raceway.There was nobody there cause the hurricane is coming.Ok for the first time at the track i was pretty consistent.My times range from a 60'/2.277-14.981/93.35, to 60'/2.424-15.269/92.68.not to bad for a basically stock AOD equipped vert.
