They didn't make even one run with a conventional (non synthetic) oil for comparison? FAIL!

Why do you think it is the best synthetic oil? What does the "best synthetic oil" even mean? You do know that video is a paid for placement done by PowerTV right? It is far from a real repeatable comparison test and there is not enough details to be useful.
Four things stand out which for me raises concern about the whole video and their marketing strategy. - Who the hell is "Mark from PowerTV"? What is PowerTV? PowerTV is a media advertising company that will produce any video you pay them to make. - They claim a "leading Japanese oil" was the oil they compared it too. Why not mention the other product by name? I have my guesses why. - If you listen really close, you will note that the "leading Japanese oil" they used was 20W50 which is a thick racing oil. The Eneos they used was 0W50, a thinner oil. It was not a fair apples to apples comparison. Thinner oil = more HP and better fuel mileage. DUH! - They claim that if his car was a 2WD, it would have gained more HP. That make NO SENSE at all and a clever twist on words. Made more HP compared to what? Wouldn't the other oil have gained more HP as well if was 2WD? Drive train losses are a fixed percentage. They were measuring wheel HP. I'm not comparing their oil to anything or saying it is good or bad but I'd hang out in dedicated oil forums before deciding what you think the best oil for your application is.

I had edited my last reply a few minutes before you quoted it taking out the part about you shilling and added more about the video before you quoted it..
Either way. That oil may be the best the world has ever seen for the three specific hand picked specs you chose, I don't know, that wasn't my point. You posted a obviously flawed, biased, "comparison" video made by a marketing company and I pointed that out. I was not trying to compare specific oils and brands. I don't do that here and never have, that is what various oil forums like bobistheoilguy.com is for. There are not tons of loopholes, there is exactly one difference. In North America, oil with a certain percentage of group III base stock can be labeled as synthetic, in Japan, the oil must be a certain percentage of group IV base stock to be considered synthetic and as a side note, all group IV oil needs to be mixed with another group (other than group IV) as a carrier to properly disperse the additive package because of its solubility properties. From my reading and limited experience, the group base is important for some specific characteristics you may want but the final mixed product that is in the bottle may be a mix of different stocks and additives and that final product makes the bigger difference than just the base stock group that was used. Is a group III base with a really good additive package for your situation better or worse than a group IV with an additive package that you don't benefit from? That is why I asked you "What does the "best synthetic oil" even mean?" Best is a moving target. If you desire a group IV based oil, what are you waiting for? There are already many choices on the market and there have been for many years.

Its all based on opinion. It all depends what you want and or like in your choice of oil. My "best" oil may be the worst for somebody else. There are far too many variables. I like and prefer mobil 1 for my vehicles and know its not the best on the market, but i trust it and have used it for years. The only reason i said that eneos was the "best" is because of the information i gathered on the internet and it superceeded all other brands in effective lubrication range, fluidity, volatility, flash point and oil consumption. It also made the most hp and tq on the dyno in more then one test video. I posted these videos to get feedback from other members and see what kinds of opinions they would form. Plus the videos break up the monotony of reading posts and were somewhat interesting and educational.

too many folks are under the impression that just because a lubricant is "full synthetic", it must be way superior...

This is no different in reading a magazine article about a cylinder head comparison. It's a paid advertisement.
