1987 5.0 firing help!!!

I recently bought a mustang and it felt like it was lagging. First thing I looked at was the firing order. It was backward of what the book said?? So I set it to the correct order and now can't get it to start. I but the timing chain back to factory setting but it has an e303 cam so should I have done that? This has had me stumped for a while, please help!

Firing order is 13726548

And set ur base timing at 10-14*

It's not an HO though. Still that firing order?

So the motor is swapped out for a non ho? Why?? And u can easily Google the firing ordee

No the intake just doesn't have the H.O . On it so I didn't think it was
