more problems
Ok, I had an issue with my car wanting to die and sputtering/cutting out on partial throttle while cruising. Well today I cleaned the iac, maf, throttle body, and changed the pcv valve. The IAC was VERY VERY dirty and cleaned it helped alot with the idle and sputtering/cutting out. The new pcv valve also helped alot. The old one was sticking a little. And the throttle body was very dirty. I cleaned it up and instantly noticed way better throttle reponse and it felt like it restored some power back.
But anyways, now there's a new issue. Now my car drives really good but my rpms hang when i rev it! I really dont know if its normal or not because all of my previous mustangs just ran like garbage and this one I own now is clean and not beat on. But when i'm idling and i give it a rev, the rpms will come down normally but hang at around 1000 rpms for about 5 seconds then drop down to about 800 for a few seconds and then they will drop down to 625 or 650 which is normal and it will continue to idle perfect afterwords. I have no idle surging or any other idle problems at all. It idles nice and steady at 625 ish. Its just if i rev it in neutral or in gear at a stop it wil come down normally and hang at 1000. I also noticed now when i'm coming to a stop and i coast in neutral to a stop light or whatever that it wil hang at 1000 untill i come to a complete stop. So any ideas? Theres no vacuum leaks at all. I was out there for hours today trying to figure this out. I even tried putting the old pcv back in and it just runs like garbage and sputters all the time. But even with the old one in the rpms will hang like i said so im thinking it has something to do with the SPOTLESS iac that i cleaned. it doesnt have a spec of carbon in it anymore. So i'm almost thinking that maybe the car is supposed to do this? Because it never did this before with the iac full of carbon all clogged up, and now its clean and the rpms are all weird. LOL so are these cars supposed to do this then? I kinda want someone to just say yes so i can stop trying to fix it lol. |
