heads and intake


have 89 notch with gt40x heads and gt40 intake want to upgrage to a better combo?? looking at afr 185 any info is appreciated. also has s-trim

I have a TFS Track Heat hci on a DSS 306 pro bullet short block. It makes 290 at the wheels corrected, 310 uncorrected. I'm sure there's people out there with custom set ups that may be better.

if your wanting to put down serious power later on the AFR's are the way to go.

Get trick flow twisted wedge FAC 190cc heads...great bang for your buck and they fit very well on a stock piston 302.

AFR 165 would be the next step down from the 185 in Ford heads. In 2003 Westech Dyno did an independent flow test of aftermarket Ford heads. The AFR 165 flowed 240I/200E @.550 and the TW 170 flowed 248I/191E @ 550, so those 2 heads flow very close to the same!

guy with 8 sec car told me to get afr 205 because of super charger, does that sound right ?? any fast guys with info on that

Like 69fastback said, unless you have an aftermarket block there is no need to go with a super high flowing head, because your block will be the week link!

Why an AFR 205? And why is that supposed to be best for a supercharger?

AFR 165 and trick flow 170 flow about the same. but trick flow 185 out flows AFR 185,from what im told

Im running AFR 185, and i like them

That can't be right. I don't get into flow numbers, but a TW 170 is way more head than an AFR 165.

I have heard that the Tf 170 does flow better then the afr 165, but not by to much
