ARP head bolts? any suggestions?
Hey guys i have a built 306 with a v-1 supercharger...running gt40 heads and the head gaskets poped! i plan on throwing her back together this week but my question is i am using stock head bolts...anyone here of heads lifting due to re-using stock head bolts ? shout it be a must to replace the oem bolts with arp head bolts? thanks guys.

The stock head bolts are torque to yeild bolts meaning that they stretch when torqued. You should not reuse them as they are now weaker due to stretching.
There are 2 options go to the parts store and buy oem replacements (which can only be used once) Or go buy a set of arp bolts which can be reused should your heads have to come off soon for some reason. Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app

yeah i was leaning more towards the arp bolts im not much of a stud man i feel safer using srp bolts rather than studs thanks for the info bud also is there any recomendation on which head gaskets i should use i want to buy the best possible no cut corners on this build. any suggestions?, thanks

You might want to condiser some Cometic head gaskets while you doing it!
(I would go with studs!)

Studs have more clamping force than bolts do. Why would you feel safer with bolts as opposed to studs? Studs are stronger.

honestly just never used the studs does any one know the torque settings on gt40 heads using arp head bolts?
