So I've been cruising the Mustang forum world for a few weeks now while I looked for a Foxbody. I have to say, from what I've read there is a plethora of knowledge on this site. I'd like to test some of if y'all don't mind. Picked up my second 'Stang yesterday after talking to the owner after a week of test drives and tire kicks. Motor has been redone a few thousand miles ago with a mild cam, forged pistons, GT-40 heads, new Tremec 500 (hurst included) and a set of Flowmasters. I don't think the gears are stock due to the RPM's it's spinning at 55 (just under 2k). Prior owner put less than 100 miles on it in the last two years, he did manage to completely re-do the interior though. Here's the question...while cruising down the highway it'll spit and sputter/backfire if I roll into the throttle. After a couple hundred yards it works itself out. It's had old fuel in it so I cleaned it out and put premium in it. It's very intermittent and doesn't happen very often. I'm thinking fuel filter? Figured if someone else has gone through this before it could save some time. Kind of busy these next couple weeks.
